The Earthquake

Oh my god! I finally felt a big one today. It started with a sound like somebody was running back and forth on the top floor and I remember thinking, what the hell are they doing running back and forth and then wham! the whole building started swaying. Then it hits me that its an earthquake! Thank god there's no damage (nothing that I can see, at least!) but it was enough to shook me. It lasted for maybe like 5-6 seconds, longer the last one that iv experienced and definitely bigger.

The phone lines, both house and cell were down for a while but seems to be working now although I still cant call Michael. Either he's still doing his medical check up or his cell phone is not working yet. It is already on the news saying that its 5.4 magnitude. Im praying that there wont be any aftershock or anything like that. It was scary enough for me!

One thing good that came out of this is that I get to meet another neighbour. lol.

Don't want to sound like a veteran of earthquakes but the Northridge one was much larger, a 6.8, I think.Lagi pun it happened in the wee hours of the morning and our power was cut off for several hours. As they say "Welcome to California. Shake and bake country":))

Farina dear,
Be careful of the aftershocks. Usually it does more damage than the first one.

"Tu lah, dok CA lagi"..hehe.. actually that was my first regret, but stayed there for 4 years anyway. The bad experience I had was during the 1989 quake. I remember the collapse of a portion of the Bay Bridge. And the World Series was on - if I'm not mistaken during that time.

San Andreas Fault is slipping... Just hope that the epicenter won't be in the adajcent area.

Take care ok?

Hi Farina,
That's good news that you are safe & sound.I hope the same for Michael.
I can really relate, because I felt an earthquake too in Hawaii a long time ago. But, it was much smaller ( 3.0 range) but shook up the lamps & the cubicles of the Community college library.

I agree with everyone; just stay alert & run outside the next time !

Big hugs to you xxx

Dear Blogger,

Hello.

My name is Edward Skading and I am writing to seek your corporation and support to help me uphold our consumer rights against F&N Dairies’ Contaminated Condensed Sweet Milk – Tea Pot brand.

The full information is posted on my weblog http://consumersrighteousness.blogspot.com/. If you wish to contact me please send an email to eddskading@hotmail.com.

I would greatly appreciate your support to expose this incident to all Malaysians because it seems like most main stream media is not interested in this horrible discovery. I wish they would take notice.

I am also in the midst of being taken to court by F&N because of my determination for transparency and truth.

Please come forward and help me. I would greatly value it.

Thank you.

Yours truly,

Edward Skading
