Pictures from VA - Part III

Sunday June 01, was Michael's birthday. Happy Birthday Baby! We didnt really go anywhere or do anything since we were busy hunting for apartment. We found a couple and applied for both. As of right now, we are still waiting to hear from them if our apllication is accepted. I feel bad that I didnt do anything for his birthday. After going back and forth looking at those apartments, he just wanted to stay home. So I made him steak and mashed potatoes with gravy. He was a happy camper! ;)

*************************************************************

Williamsburg Plantation. We bought the timeshare back in 2005 but have never even used it until now. We even thought of selling it once but thank god we didnt. For both units (2 b/2b each) we only paid around USD450 for a week stay. We didnt stay the whole week though but oh well, you all know the story.

Each door has 2 units, ground floor and first floor. Instead of being given 2 units (up and down), we were given 2 units next to each other. Kinda weird but luckily both the upstair units are empty.

These pictures were taken just before we checked out. Since its a timeshare, you must make sure the place is as clean as possible. Rubbish take out the the rubbish bin. All plates and pots in the dishwasher and etc.

nice place but really, not that i'm trying to freak you guys out but the name williamsburg Plantation itself sounds pretty much like this place is haunted. doesnt it? ok maybe i've been watching too much Ghost Hunter lately but when certain places are labeled as plantation, you bet they're rich of myths & tales, ala the Myrtles Plantation...woooooooo...

What a great idea, how did you guys find out about this timeshare? And what does a timeshare get you?

aduhai kerpie. only u wud think of ghost and such. hahaha. actually im not sure if tht place is haunted. i didn feel anything whenever we were there so thts enuf for me.

David, we actually received a lot of timeshare offers. Im sure uv seen them at the malls. usually they will have the car (supposedly there will be lucky winner) at the foyer of the mall and forms to fill up. As long as ur a married couple and earning a certain amount, you're more likely to qualify for their 'free' 3d/2n stay at the resort. Once ur there, u just need to listen to their 90min presentation and the stay is free. sometimes they even offer you some money. We went to a time share presentation in atlantic city before and we got 50 cash. No free stay tho since it was a walk-in. The price of timeshare depends on wht week u owned and the location. Email me if you need more info ok?

Happy belated birthday to Michael. Apartment hunting can be very exhausting. I hope they accept your application and we can plan for your house warming party soon. :)
2 units for $450/week is a very good deal. One thing I hate is that you have to sit and listen to their presentation for 90 minutes. They have that in Disney World, Orlando.

Hi Farina,
Happy belated birthday also to Michael !

Your timeshare home is looking good. Nice to take the guided tour ;)It definately has that colonial look on the outside.
Wall-wall carpeting... I almost forget what that is ! I'am in a home that has everything else ! In HI were I grew up, we would always take our shoes off before entering inside home. That's the Oriental side to HI.
Nice to feel soft carpet under bare feet ;)

You take care my friend.

Hey Kak Farina,

The 'mansion' looks lovely! Hehe...It's very colonial on the outside but modern on the inside! Certainly a good price you got there (although I am still pretty confused by the whole TimeShare thingy)...

Glad you had a good time! And oh, Happy Birthday Michael! Can I share some of that steak and potatoes of yours? ;)

Farina,
I pun pun nk tau what is actually 'timeshare' tu? is it ilke a holiday plan or package or something..coz I had..err like holiday membership and we got 7d peryear where we can spend at any of their hotels/resorts and affiliated hotels..but hv to pay certain amount monthly..mcm tu ke?

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MICHAEL!..beli lah present kat dia..mesti dia suka :)

Een, kat aust pun ada timeshare jugak. timeshare ni macam partly owning a property. instead of owning the whole property, u only own a certain week of the year. u pay the maintenance fee and u get to use the apartment. it varies fr 1 timeshare to another. u can just google abt it.

Barbara, thank you. so u like wall-to-wall carpet ya? i prefer w/o carpet. either way id take my shoes off too. i hate wearing shoes in the hse. lol.

Thanks Daphne. timeshare is good kalau byk berjalan and in big group/family coz hotels can cost a lot of money. now tht michael realised how cheap it is w the timeshare, hopefully we'l jalan2 more lah. hehe.

Envy, thanks. Now we'r happy coz we finally get to use the timeshare. im praying for more holidays!

Nat, iv heard of tht where u can use like a few days a year but r u sure u have to pay monthly? tht doesn make sense tho.

Happy Belated Birthday to your hubby!!

Nice pictures of the place. I wonder if this kind of time share thingy will work in Malaysia (i.e, keeping the place clean).

Nightwing.

Mush, memang not bad for a timeshare esp w 2bedrooms and full kitchen. ;)

Nat, oh ok. kalau convert usd to rm memang lebih kurang aje. we are lucky coz ours has no expiration/maturity date. boleh bagi kat anak-cucu pun nanti macam rumah.

thanks Zue!

NW, thanks. In msia also ada. U must keep it clean when u check out or else theyl charge you for cleaning services. Timeshare is not like hote. its more like ur own house away fr ur home. ;)
