Hot Weather, Terrace Apt & Gas Price

Since last Friday, it has been very hot especially yesterday and today. This hot weather is going to continue for at least until next weekend. If you still remember, the a/c unit in our apartment still not functioning and as usual the damn management people keep coming up with new and different excuses everytime we ask them for an update. They are cunning, liars and conmen/women.

Anyways, back to the a/c unit that is not functioning, I managed to secure/borrow a portable a/c unit from them. That's what they keep telling us, "We will lend you the portable a/c unit until the spare part comes in should the weather gets hot". I am so gonna write to the new renter after we left and let them know that the a/c does work but needs to be repaired so that they dont get duped like we did the first year we moved here. It does get hot here even at night just like Malaysia. :P

On the gas front, we have yet to fill up the tank since last week. He did fill like 15 the other day since it was expensive and well, you know it yourself, 15 doesnt really fill anything these days. He was hoping that the gas price would come down but he forgets that summer is just a few days away and its already school holiday so that means the gas price will not going to go down but most likely will go up.

Farina,
sorry to hear about your a/c at your house. Tell me what's wrong with your a/c and what kind of parts are they waiting for? I work at an a/c company. If it is because of not cooling enough, it probably there's a leak somewhere and if it is the lineset, it will cost them a fortune to replace it. Lucky they give you a portable a/c to use in the meantime.
Gas price, I heard they say it will go up to $6.00 I am hoping it doesn't go that high if it does, my boss won't pay me anymore. huhuhu

unlike the states, in Malaysia the a/c service people are very efficient. well, at least around my area. my point is, the heat can get the better of us that if they didnt come in time we'll throw our tantrum by punching their crotch before taking our business elsewhere.

Hi Farina

The heat here has been playing hell with me too. I try not to use too much a/c - trying to keep electricity cost down but sometimes just 'cannot tahan'. I agree the nights can be just as hot as in Malaysia. I cannot wait till summer is over. I need Fall weather.. now! :)

Luckily you have a portable a/c to help you along. A good thing too you are warning the new renters. That's nice of you.

The other day, I hardly used quarter tank and my Jeep guzzled up $17.00 If I had a heart monitor attached to me, one would have heard beats similar to a horse galloping. :D

Yatie, i think they have to change the whole thing. its very very old but thanks anyway. Eh 6/gallon? my god!

Akmal, service? here? u can expect service fr the post office but hardly fr apt mgtn or cable or phone.

Kerp, haha. i can imagine u kicking them int heir crotch if they didn fix ur a/c!

JT, u pun having hot weather on ur side ya? i think its hotter at night esp if u live on 2nd or 3rd fl since all the heat wud go up. Speaking of gas, we'r seriously thinking of trading our jeep for a sedan once we settled in at the new place. cannot tahan already!

Farina, one of the things that i got as a farewell gift is a fan! hahaha cos our old appartment can get as hot as an oven and since i hv a cat, i cant open the windows too wide, takut dia terjun = ) Summer is a mix of highs & lows here and lots of stormy days. Hope the portable unit will ease the heat abit. But nonetheless, enjoy the summer babe.

Farina,
Last time when the gas going up & up and keep going up, I sold our SUV and bought a RX-8 for better mileage. :) It helps alot if Brad doesn't has a heavy foot/lead foot. :P

Mush, who wud have tot tht fan wud be a great gift to receive ya? lol. the a/c guys are here but im stil no confident they'l be able to get it fixed since they argue a lot while doing the job. now, dah hilang ntah gi mana. pening! lol.

Yatie, whts rx-8? so brad rajin berjln2 ya? now kena kurangkan all those activities yg require lotsa travelling.

RX-8 made by Mazda is a small fast car. His office is 30 miles from home and Brad suka race on the highway, lagi banyak dia tekan minyak, lagi cepatlah minyak habis. Research said RX-8 is a cheaper car but as fast as porsche 911. :)

Hi Farina,
That's pretty bad for the ac; Geez; it's hard to find good service these days.
I live in an old house that is not equiped w/ ac; we just have some fans that we use just in case.
But, we have fewer really hot days than you all in Cali.

Take care.

Helo,

Hope today is a bit cooler.

As for the gas price....blame it on the speculators..if i were the oil producing companies (OPEC)...i would do what Tun did to our currency during the 1997 crisis...peck the ringgit.

In this case peck the oil price which oil producing companies deem 'real' price of oil...maybe peck it at $70 or $80 (still making profit).

$134 per barrel not the true value of the commodity.

Farina dear,
I hope the a/c's functioning well now... Phew.. I can't imagine working in the office without an a/c.. Inikan pulak kat rumah during HOT weather....
I remember when I was in CA90804, I used to soak myself in the bathtub during hot weather. But what amazed me was the nextdoor minah salleh girls who'd wear their bikinis and sunbathing on the front lawn.... Isshh.. tak panas ke? I was like.. Hey I'm a Malaysian and I could feel my brains frying... and you Californians were tanning yourselves! Amazing..amazing...

farina, I believe it is global warming and it did happened in Boston too.

As for the Air conditioner, they should replace it with a new one, after all a new AC cost less then 150 dollar, I saw one price at $149.00. As for Gas, it the same everywhere and this includes Malaysia.

Have a nice day any way.

NW, i agree on the oil part. Its all speculators fault. Theres no way its the real value of supply& demand.
