Cooking & Mummy Tomb of The Dragon Emperor

Thank you all for the kind words. I am feeling much better now. Not jumping anymore at the slightest sound and you know how sensitive my hearing is. I basically hears everything especially that irritating dripping sound in the bathtub or sink. Arrgh! Those just drive me cra-zee.

Somehow despite being a little bit jumpy, I managed to cook 3 things the very next day. I made meatballs, murtabak/curry puff and tada! Peanut Butter Chocolate Nutella Maple Syrup Marble Cake. I dont know what got into me but maybe deep down inside, I was just shaken and the default-mode kicked in to keep my mind of it. Come to think of it, maybe I should renamed it Quakie PBCNMSMC!

**********************************************************
We watched Mummy Tomb of The Dragon Emperor on Saturday despite the not-so-good review it received. I think its not too bad. Yes, I prefer the first 2 better but this movie deserved a much better review than it did. 1 thing that I dont like is the new Evelyn O'Connell (Maria Bello). I truly feel that she failed big time in fitting into Rachel Weisz's shoes. Her accent was wrong, her facial expression was wrong, even her 'looks' was wrong. Rachel Weisz has that innocent, hard-headed, sweet and/or confused look (for Mummy movies) about her and Maria Bello has none of them. I dont know why they chose her as the replacement. And that made me sad. Throughout the whole movie, I could not stopped myself from saying/thinking, RC would'nt look like that or that scene would look so much better if it was RC instead of MB. I think Kate Winslet or Nicole Kidman would have been a better choice. What do you think?

Dear Farina
I am so glad you are OK, i would hv been scared sh*tLess too babe! Big hugs, u r indeed brave whether u know it or not. Those cakes u've baked looked so delicious Farina, u r so talented and patient.

Thanks for the movie reviews, i appreciate such reviews cos i hv to wait for the dvd to come out then can watch, we hardly get the chance to go watch a movie since we had Nora. They replace RW, oh god, thats awful, yes, i love Kate Winslet, think she would hv been the better replacement for RW.

Well, big hugs for now, Mush xxx

Glad to hear you are safe.
I will probably get the DVD or rent the DVD for the Mummy. The reviews I read are pretty bad and since RW is not in it...hmmm... I hate it when they replaced the original cast, you know?

Hi Farina

Wah.. you very rajin lah. I want to bake but when I think about all the stuff I have to bring together, I change my mind. hahaha
Got to get off my lazy butt and try some new things in the kitchen.

Anyway, it has been ages since I made a good orange cake (with olive oil! - very healthy). I will probably try that after I get over my quick weekend getaway - with the in laws. :) Maybe after baking that orange cake, it will encourage me to go further. *keeping fingers crossed*

Cake looked so sedap! So confirm... not even an earthquake can stop you from whipping out goodies to eat! :D

I heard the reviews for The Mummy 3 are not so good, but I think I'll go watch it anyway, maybe around next week. I liked the first two (of course the first one is good). I was disappointed when I heard Rachel Weisz chose not to return, but I guess she wanted to jaga her career by being careful with the movies she'll appear in.
